July Loyalty Market Update

Australia
- David Jones is joining Qantas Frequent Flyer to counter Myer which is absorbing Just Group’s program into Myer One and will also upgrade its app and rewards hub.
- Metcash’s liquor arm ALM now has 400 stores in loyalty programs, Liquor Marketing Group’s More Rewards reached 40K members, Liquor Legends hit a million members last year and Thirsty Camel will upgrade its Hump Club with gamification.
- Woolworths will shut MyDeal (lack of profitability), Target will sunset Shop+ and Super Cheap Auto eliminated its Best Price Credit.
- Qantas was hacked and 6 million frequent flyers are affected (the biggest hack since Medibank and Optus).
- There are now 211 loyalty platforms and solutions available in Australia (mapped on our 130-page report – email me for a copy).
New Zealand
- Air New Zealand has added Giftbox Boutique as a partner.
